Pagan Blog Project Week 8 ~ De-cluttering

Merry meet,

I am a little late with this weeks blog post due to personal reasons...Anyway, they are no longer issues... well not mine anyway!

So I want to write about the wonderful magickal art of *De-Cluttering*. It's possibly the one thing that has me both groaning and excited at the thought at the same time. I'm one of those witches that loves to clean when it's going to be easy, i'm not one of those that can walk into a *Bomb-Shell* and 60 minutes later have it looking like it's out of a stately home magazine. Nope, I haven't the stamina for it haha.

But in all seriousness the idea of applying simple sympathetic magick techniques for de-cluttering really makes me a very happy witch inside. I love using things like lemon scented polish for my woods in the home to both purify and cleanse as well as encouraging happiness, positivity and a fresh feeling. Another favourite of mine is again using lemon and salt to remove all negative energies around me and my home.

Today I've had a lovely day de-cluttering my home, my mind and my life. It's so invigorating to get stuck in and organise things and throw out old clothes, papers, magazines and even furniture that no longer fills your heart with joy at the sight of them. Sometimes us facebookers do this on our profile pages and we call it the "Facebook Cull" where we remove people who do not have our best interests at heart. It's very rare I do this as I try to be careful with whom I add.

A good idea for the home is to have one box or drawer where you can shove all the *junk mail* where you literally shove your receipts, letters, appliance manuals and so forth. But you must reguarly go through this drawer and clean it out otherwie you know it will only move onto extending another drawer or box. Regular clear outs are good not only for your home, but for your mental and emotional well-being.

A good de-clutter is something every witch should be doing as it helps to keep all energies high and positive. Whilst doing your de-cluttering, it's a good idea to have the windows open even just ever so slightly, as it all helps the energy move around and prevent it from being stagnant.

Afterwards, light candles, say hedgewitch prayers, even use our sage bundles or singing bowls to go and remove any energy thats hanging around like a teenager that simply refuses to move, and also it helps to infuse positivity into your home and area.

So go on, have a good old Spring Clean and De-clutter your life. You are worth having a wonderful environment to live in, both online and offline.

Love Rory xXx

Finding the light in a Table Cloth

Merry Meet,

I have had a tough few days. We all have those horrible days where we are quite literally knocked off our feet. I have them! I'm not immune just simply because i'm a witch or a psychic or a writer! In fact I think I have more than my fair share of these times.

I'm not going to go into what happened, it's personal, but needless to say that it was something that really upset me, angered me, and has made me withdrawn in myself. I have cried and cried, and now I have those horrible red puffy eyes to go with it.

But you know something, I am so not going to waste any more tears! I am worth more than that. You can advise someone until you are blue in the face but don't make the mistake that I made by enduring their pain from their situation and making it my pain. It really is not my pain to own, they may not have that pain yet... but if you jump out of the frying pan (realising the situation) and then jump into the fire (going back for more) then, im sorry but you are going to get burnt! But hey! Free will an' all. Saying NO more on this subject.

Anyway, I'd say the first day of my painful and very emotional issue, I reached for a book... one that I didn't expect to find answers in, but one that I did. I reached desperately for *God Wears Lipstick*. I began reading and couldn't put it down. Then I read one section that has really stuck in my mind.

What is our purpose for being here?

Many of us search our whole lives for an answer to this question. I even conduct many psychic readings for clients whom want the answer to this. A short spiritual answer would be "LOVE" or "BE HAPPY" or "LIVE". But I got a welcome answer whilst reading this book. "LIGHT".

The purpose of life is to find the light in everything and everyone. Sounds complicating I know. Complicating??!!! Yes it really is! Why do you think many of us find life so hard. We all have times when we can't see the light any anything, not even the lightbulb! But, to delve a little more deeply, but we're meant to SHARE the LIGHT with others. Now what does that mean?

It means, when we have a friend for example, whom gives and gives and gives to us, purely out of love for us. We can sometimes feel blessed, and loved, and well, very happy to have such a friend. But then one day we start to feel uneasy and it's like we feel we're being stopped from being a good person and friend too... we are being stopped from sharing with them... so we try to share with them and they might appreciate it and it might be a perfect friendship.... but then there is always that flip coin... they might not take ti so well. Well this is what *God Wears Lipstick* said.

Now, my intepretation 101 on this, is that sometimes we can feel like we have a wonderful life, wonderful family, friends, job etc, and we can be one of life's GIVERS.... I think I can safely put myself into that category... As a child and still today, I am a giver. If someone at school was my friend, and we constantly had even just had a good week...(We know how girls and playgrounds go together ...*Rolls eyes*) I would feel IMPELLED to give something to my friend, almost as a thank you for being my friend today/this week/this month/this year/my life. Now, that sounds pretty cute.... but what if they dont give back to you? Well, to be honest it never bothered me, and still doesn't really.

what peeves me off is when you are there 24/7 for them, they are always aware that they can come and talk to you, and you'd be there at a drop of a hat for them, night or day. You listen to their woes ... (they might listen to yours), you advise them, you stick up for them, and you literally protect them like your life depends on it... or rather their life... because you aim yourself in the firing line for any trouble. For the first instance they are grateful... feel safe... even thankful. You see their light come back, that sparkle, you pick them up, steady them when they walk... and then they are strong again, they walk unaided and you stand back and smile... not out of ego for saying "I did that!", but to say "God, I'm glad you are happy again".

But then......BANG!!!!!!!!!!! You're down on the floor crying! What happened? Well, everything went so quickly.... and you have to glance back... and you see that your friend/family/colleague/neighbour has gone and ran back to the WOE that caused them to be vunerable in the first place. At first, your shocked, your angry, then you become.... I dunno, in my case... withdrawn... you want to hide from the world, you want to be alone yet you want to be surrounded by people to protect your heart.

What do you do now?

Well, you allow yourself to feel confused, you allow yourself to feel the pain, and you allow yourself to be depressed about it! Then you pick yourself up slowly, and stumble slightly, then you will walk and one day soon you will glide!   WHY???? Because it's part of the healing process, you need to go through this rite of passage so that you can pick yourself up, and start again. But the mistake not to make is to stand for the rubbish all over again because then... you my lovely will be jumping out of the frying pan back into a fire! And we don't want you to get burnt!

So lesson 1 - look after number 1,

lesson 2 - look for the light in everything. The light can be found in EVERYTHING. Take a tablecloth for example.... look for the light in it.... go on.... try it! Especially if you're feeling about as rubbish as I feel!

Ok... I'll start us off... The Light within the tablecloth..... let me list them;

1 - it's pretty
2 - it makes me smile
3 - it makes my table look nice
4 - it makes my room like nice
5- it brightens the place up
6 - it adds comfort
7 - IT PROTECTS MY TABLE  ----this is the important one for this... because if your table is protected, it can carry on doing what it is supposed to be doing.

So you my lovely's if you EVER find yourself in a broken hearted situation -  cry, scream, shout, do what you have to do, but don't forget to look for the light in the tablecloth... and then put that table cloth around you. Take my hand.... and let's try and walk :)

I send you so much LOVE and LIGHT,

I sincerely hope you never have to use this blog post in your life, but if you do, my heart is with you

Love Aurora

Wordless Sunday ~ Week 2 ~ Hidden Voices

Hi all,

It's Sunday which means it's "Wordless Sunday" time.

I first looked at the prompt from *Pixies Musings* and thought - "How can I write something about that?" so I admit, I walked away pretty peeved that I couldn't stick this challenge through.

at 21:00 (approx 5 minutes ago) I re-found the picture and made it speak to me. For my writing University course we have been told to write from an objects voice... How do I know what an object would say?

Well, this is what I think this building would say.

Hidden Voices

The view of me is protected
Only I can see out there
Surrounded all in hues of blue
Stones aged with wisdom of greying hair

Twists and turns testing my spine
Hidden eyes all on you
You think you see me
When it is I that sees you

Ledges smooth to touch
If only the terror seen was visible to you
Voices say I’m pretty, equisite, even raw
Yet history unknown would shock you

The voices belong to minds
Who stand to look and stare
Some are willing, others forced
Yet opinions are shared with me without a care

Mosaic inspired from country afar
Invaders are not welcome here

Serpents’ teeth stand to attention
My mask of pretty is something to fear

Love my Links

Merry Meet,

So much to tell you all right now. I am going to link you up to some of the amazing things going on for me right now.

First of all my new column with Magickal Media magazine is out now and I've written all about Celtic Reiki. You can read it by clicking on the picture below.

Next on my agenda is the fact that I have a separate writing blog called *Vintage Witches Journal*.
This is where I will write all about my adventures through my writing, and also my creativity including art journalling (I am extremely new to this!), sewing, and well, all things inspiring.

Lastly, the whole inspiration and book behind my love for all things creatively written is from this book,

I'm finding that I have a mini-love for poetry and seem to find it pretty easy to write - as long as it rhymes. I have a creative idea for my poetry but you will have to visit (And click *follow*) Vintage Witches Journal to find out more about that.

Short and sweet as I apparently talk for far too long on blogs, and I don't want to run the risk of boring you.

Have a wonderful Sunday

Love Aurora xXx

Pagan Blog Project 2012 ~ Week 7 ~ Dreams

Merry Meet,

Wow, Week 7 already and I'm still blogging! This is such a huge achievment for me I don't think you could comprehend what it means to me as a blogger as  writer and as a person in society!
Anyway, I want to discuss my knowledge about dreams. So here goes;

I was once told that dreams were very important to me and I agreed, at the time thinking of the dreams I’d had about my then partner being safe and happy ( as he is in the army and was at that time serving in Iraq). This person also told me how they were a communication for me. I just took it that the dreams were telling me that he would be ok. I was right on that one, he was safe and he did come home. However what I failed to realise at the time was how important these dreams were to my life and how I would use these dreams as my special slant on paranormal topics. Let me explain;

I sat down one morning and relayed a dream I’d had the previous night to my mother about an aunt of mine who had passed several years before. The dream itself was about her passing only it was a different scene to the passing that actually occurred. It included many people from the family that had passed before including my uncle who was my aunt’s husband, who I should point out that actually passed before my aunt did, yet in my dream he was still alive, as were my father, and other family members. The intriguing thing in this dream was my eagerness to tell them that the clock had stopped at the time of her passing and it hadn’t started again since. They would not listen and I began to become impatient about this. Back to reality, the time of her passing wasn’t correct on the clock, yet the time on the clock was the time I told my mother about my dream. To add to this the previous night my spiritual guide had been telling me things to write down to do with angelic and afterlife calling cards and place a tick next to those I myself have experienced. I hadn’t listed the phenomenon of clocks stopping at the time of loved ones passing and believe my aunt had given me that dream to remind me of an important one. This particular calling card ; clocks stopping at the time of a passing, was one I had myself experienced when my Nan passed. So to sum it all up my dreams were a connection to the afterlife, my communication just as I had been told. So I want to explain and show you how your loved ones may be trying to guide you through your dreams.

The most common dream that people have is a Precognitive dream which is a predictive dream. I began my afterlife dreaming with one of these dreams when I was 13 years old by predicting plane crashes, which sadly did occur within hours, days, and weeks of my dream. I still remember mum using the old Tele-text service on our TV to show a news story about a plane crash that was exactly like my dream the night before. People have reported of dreaming about the 9/11 attacks on the twin towers before it happened, and have even cancelled trips and flights due to a foreboding dream. It seems that people do take notice of these dreams that are I believe warnings sent to us by our angels and loved ones in the afterlife. As well as warnings, I personally believe that these dreams are asking us to pray for all the souls that will be involved in the crisis.

Dreams have occurred to people that are close to passing in order to prepare them for the afterlife, with many saying that they felt peace and joy and no longer feared death. Many terminally ill patients report of transitional dreams that include a variety of afterlife entering systems. These have included walking through doors, crossing bridges, being guided by a loved one, and even being in a peaceful garden with the most beautiful scenery. My own father prior to his passing reported of seeing my mother with angels, and a visit to the peaceful garden. He even felt as though he had been out of hospital which he hadn’t. Well not physically, but perhaps spiritually he had.

Many people, in fact, 7 out of 10 people will experience the sensation of flying in their dreams at some point in their lives. This is known as an Out-of-Body Experience (OBE). An OBE is where your astral body travels out of the physical one to the astral plane where you are seemingly flying. I can never remember the sensation of flying myself, but I do remember the sensation I feel when I return to my body after an OBE. It feels as though you are falling and then you feel a thud and you’re awake. This is where your astral body is re-entering your physical one. At first when I started to experience this I must admit I found it a bit scary, then I went on to feeling annoyed that it woke me up, but now I really find it quite amusing as upon awakening I wonder to myself ‘where have you just been?’. Have you experienced this?

My favourite type of dream has to be a Dream visitation. Dream visitations are where your loved ones visit you in your dreams perhaps with a message for you. This could be a message to say ‘I love you,’ or ‘I’m ok, please don’t worry’. I’ve had a variety of dream visitations including a message from my father to tell mum that he’s ok and has been healed, which does happen to loved ones who have perhaps had a tough time prior to passing. I’ve also had a dream visitation where I visited my Nan and Granddad in their nice cottage in the afterlife, although the cottage setting was for my benefit rather than theirs.

Another type dream that occurs is a Past life dream, where you dream of your past life, and you recognise it as being such by just knowing and the surroundings being familiar to you. I have experienced a past life dream myself.

I dreamt I was in Egypt where I worked as an embalmer in the tombs. You must realise I have never been to Egypt so I know nothing of the layout of Egypt or the tombs first hand. My job was to embalm the deceased bodies and I refused to place a living cat in one of the tombs. My master found out and I was locked in this tomb over a period of time with no lighting, no food or drink thus dying due to dehydration. Past life dreams interest me deeply and I really think there is a point to them. They can bring up issues from previous lives that need addressing, and when you address them you release yourself from the pain or anxiety it caused you subconsciously. My Past life dream certainly helped me heal from fear of the dead.

Hopefully you can see the interesting paranormal side to dreams and realise they are a communication to you from loved ones and afterlife angels. Remember to write them down, make sure they are dated and keep them in a safe place for in time; they might just hold the key to your destiny.

Love, Life, Live ~ Post 100

Hey all,

Wow! Not only is today valentines day *Happy Valentines to all of you out there*, it is also a day where I have finally been given the gift of seeing a way forward, and.... (Yes there is more! - there is always more with me!) but it is also the day I blog my 100th post!!!

What better way to celebrate this fantastic day of LOVE that to blog about how I have made my life more *lovable*.

I have over the weekend whilst I had no voice to use through laryngitis decorated my bedroom. Now it could be a bit too pink and floral for some, but for me, it is perfect. I knew it when I saw the picture that inspired me, and the feeling the room has now its done is well... beyond what I expected. I feel happy, inspired, carefree, and well, ALIVE!!!

Here are the pic's that inspired me;

So I set my mind on creating a Vintage and pretty Pink home for myself, starting with my bedroom.... and here is the finished picture...

So pretty! I am in love with it! I even have my witchy altar set up too and it looks perfect as a little vintage witches bedroom ... dont you think?

Now, you remember the mirror shown in the picture? Well, my Dad brought me that many many years ago when I was a little girl. At the time, I didn't like it as I thought the writing was spoiling it "Who'd write on a mirror?" I said!

Well Mum found it and I saw it, looked at it and said "Oh My.... how beautiful is this? Corsets and Busts unbreakable... that sounds like an Unbreakable woman! How empowering!" So it had to go on my wall, and just how darn pretty does it look now?

Well I couldn't just leave it there. I wanted to know about J.B. Side Spring Corsets... so I googled it and found a corset by them...

dated 1905-1907

OMG, how beautiful is this? And my, I never expected it to be so old :D

Well, this got me thinking and now I have some wonderful ideas for this Witch Inside. I can't reveal anything just yet, but I will in due course.

With my bedroom now looking so beautiful, I have more space in there too with careful rearrangement of furniture, so I just have to set my desk area up and I know my ideas will flow and be fabulous!

oh, and just in case you're wondering, yes I have inspiration for my desk...

I'll let you know how that project goes too.

So to end this Valentines day 100th post, I will leave you with this....

Make sure you do everything you can to;

Bright Blessings,

Aurora )O(

Wordless Sunday ~ Week 1

Merry Meet,

My lovely sister is running her "Wordless Sundays" again on her blog where she posts a picture and we write about whatever springs to mind for this piece. You can view and take part by looking at her blog Pixie's Musings and then linking back to your blog on her comments with your post.

Well as I am needing practice with my poetry for a University Assignment due 23rd February, I thought I'd try to write a poem about this picture.

The Jewelled City

Sunrise and Sky blend as one
Tiny jewels gelled together
Wonderment and Magick - those moments are gone
Magic Carpet hues blending with a feather.

Candy canes and sugar lumps
lay the pathway of the walls
Elegance and Posture rule as opposed to frumps
Dreams of girls finding love at galant balls.

A journey not to be forgotten
feelings and moments captured on frame
to flick through later when feeling rock bottom
re-inspiring you and raising your game.

The heirloom jewels seen many a day
stubborn and secure - refusing to move
Guarding and guiding the City's historical bay
Those Jewels of Mosiac, with their history have nothing to prove.

© Aurora Brierley 12/02/2012

I'd love to know what you guys and gals think? Poetry is not my strength but I am trying to improve as I do like writing poetry. I find it a quick way for me to get my ideas out from start to finish without waiting as I am terrible with *patience*

Im not bowled over by this piece... just for the record. :/

Blessed Be xx

Pagan Blog Project 2012 ~ Week 6 ~ Cards

Merry Meet,

This week I wanted to share with you perhaps the most important part of my pathway since I began even being intrigued by the craft...Cards. It's the one aspect that has stuck with me through thick and thin, doubt and belief. The use of Oracle and Tarot cards perhaps in some way, sum up who I am, or what I am interested in.

My first oracle deck I ever used was *Messages from the Angels* by Doreen Virtue.

I was 13 years old and I'd had the cards for a while and one day after school I felt that it was the right time to use them. So I lit a few candles and sat myself on my bedroom floor (As a teen I always loved sitting on my floor - it grounded me) and looked through the accompaning booklet for a spread and idea on what to ask the cards. Then I found it. "Recieve a message from a deceased loved one". Now communing with spirit isn't something I always planned on doing, it was something that I was born with... it certainly feels that way. But I missed my Nan, she'd died 10 years previous and I wanted to feel her close to me... I wanted some proof that she was around me and that the visions I had wasn't just wishful thinking on my part.

I shuffled the cards and hoped. I didn't expect anything profound. To be honest I'm not sure what I expected at 13 years old.

But then the card fell out. So I stopped. I put the cards down and picked it up. I turned it over.

I read it. I cried. I then talked to my nan for what seemed like hours.

And that was how I started. How I really got the boot up the behind because after that I thought, If I can be reassured like this, could I do it for others?

So  joined an online chatroom, and forums and practised everyday. Everyday I was bombarded with requests for readings.

It got to the stage where I planned on pulling 3 cards and would begin interpreting the angels messages from the first card and then the other two would be fitted in the reading a long time later as Spirit would draw to me and communicate with their loved ones.... all via a chatroom.... and chatroom user name. I couldn't tell you any of the names as I simply do not know. They couldn't tell you who I was... well they could... WhiteWitch04... mainly, but beside the point. Those oracle cards became a staple to my craft.

After that I used Tarot cards, faerie cards, mermaid cards... you name them I have them! And I love them! Each deck offers me a different vibration to work on and connect with the clients needs. Right now, I love working with my Faerie Heart Oracle, and Romance Angels decks as at the moment it seems that is what people are drawn to me for. But each day brings new opportunities and new people with new issues and concerns.

Whichever deck they need, or whatever their concern, it is my Duty to my own Craft, to the Witch Inside of me to do my best to help them. It's a vow I took and one I will not break... and still have not broken in 10 years.

Thank you for reading about a huge part of my life.

Blessed Be,

Pagan Blog Project 2012 -Wk 5 ~ CRAFT NAME

Merry Meet,

Week 5 greets us not only with the energy of a wonderfully blessed Imbolc but of the Pagan Blog Project – C part 1.

I had initially thought of blogging about the Magickal circle we Pagan folk use when conducting a ritual and spell casting, but the Goddess came to me late last night just as I was about to drift off to Fairyland for a meeting with Queen Mab, and told me to write about the Magickal Names we sometimes chose or have given to us as we walk a moonlit pathway of the Goddess. So I will honour the goddesses’ guidance and write about “CRAFT NAMES”.

When I first read about the art of having a craft name I must have been about 14 years old when I read it in Silver RavenWolf’s book (Love or loathe her – I appreciate her writing style).  I felt excited at the prospect of having a name that I chose all for myself. I had always fancied myself as a Crystal MirrorWind or Amethyst RavenMoon, but however lovely those names sounded, it wasn’t for me. I began to think about things and aspects of myself that were true to me. A long soul search later I was dedicated to the Lord and Lady as; Opal AutumnWynd. Let me explain;

Opal ~ my birthstone, Autumn ~ my favourite time of year along with also being the Season of my Birth, and Wynd ~ A spin off of ‘wind’  the element I belong to being of the Sylphs and being a Libran.

However as I grew in both age and craft knowledge I received a visit from the Moon Goddess Artemis one night as we experienced a Waxing moon and she told me that my new craft name was *Aurora MoonMaiden*. She explained the reasoning behind this and it resonated within me. So I have transitioned from Opal AutumnWynd to Aurora MoonMaiden.

I use my craft name sometimes when signing articles or writing blog entries, or emails/letters to fellow Craft friends but mainly use them when speaking with the Goddess or performing a ritual.

I do have a secret craft name that only the Goddess, God and I know, and I like it that way. Sometimes it really is nice to have that little corner of sanctuary in your own life where only you and the Gods know. I know I value the secret of my Craft name and I assume many more of us out there also value it for perhaps the same reasons, or perhaps a more varied reasoning applies. That’s fine.

If there is one thing that I have learnt on my pagan pathway, it is that you absolutely follow your heart in all you do. You do what feels right to you and you honour the God & Goddess within, by doing so, you truly are being the Witch Inside.

Blessed Be,
Aurora MoonMaiden
